A Week Full of Fun!

Just a warning...this is a long post! You're getting a play by play of each day! :)

Last week, Marc's family - on his mom's side - came here from all over for an extended Family Reunion and 80th b-day party for his grandpa (we call him Nonno). His grandparents are from Michigan and drive out here every summer. They arrived here last Monday. Marc's cousin from Michigan, Nate, and his wife, Amanda, and their son, Hayden flew out on Tuesday and stayed with us all week. Thursday through Saturday were the fun adventures that Marc's mom planned with all the families but for 2 days it was mostly just the six of us.

Tuesday, we went to Cabella's to get a gift then stayed to look at the fish and the wildlife. Then we went to Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country and enjoyed the sounds and smells of farm animals. It was a hot day boys! When we left for Cabella's I didn't think we were going anywhere else so I didn't have my camera. But Amanda got a few pictures, thank goodness! That night we had a BBQ at the pavillion in the park across from our house.

It was a surprise for Nonno to see Nate.

Wednesday we went to Adventure Land Park in American Fork and fed the ducks. Apprently ducks like tortillas as well as bread! Then we had lunch at JCW's, then headed to Boondocks! We rode the go-carts and the boys did the batting cages, then we played some arcade games. I am awesome when it comes to Ms. Pacman!

Thursday we went swimming at Legacy Center. Then that night we met up with Marc's parents. grandparents, sister Laura, his other cousin, Chad (Nate's brother), and Chad's girlfriend, Malinda. Chad and Malinda flew in that day from Philadelphia. We went to Salt Lake and had dinner at Settebello which is a true Italian Pizzeria. Yummy! Then we walked around Temple Square.

Friday, we had a yummy breakfast over at Steve and Paula's (Marc's parents) then drove up to Park City. Marc, Nate, Chad and Brad (Marc's brother-in-law) went golfing at Soldier Hollow. The rest of us went and rode the Alpine Coaster. I had never been on that. At first I was a little scared, cuz I'm a baby like that, but it was really fun. After that we went shopping at the Outlet Malls. Then had a BBQ at Marc's sister, Ana's, house. Hayden and Kenadie were really good, considering it was a long, hot day. Oh and Marc's Aunt, Uncle and cousins from Seattle came, and Uncle and cousins from California came too.

Just playing before we get to eat

Saturday afternoon we attempted to hike to Timp Cave. Kenadie wouldn't let us, so we made it half way up then turned around and went back down. She was pretty much crying the whole time. Marc's Uncle Gregg, from Tennessee, surprised everyone and showed up to the hike. He told everyone he couldn't come because he just got a new job and wouldn't be able to get the time off. He actually flew out on Friday night and stayed with his son, Chad. Marc was one of the first to see him. He, Nate and Chad went golfing that morning at Cedar Hills. Chad said that a buddy of his was going to meet them for golf that morning. But his "buddy" turned out to be his dad! Gregg surprised Nonno (his dad) on the trail. Nonno started walking down because he was a bit tired (can you blame him?! He's 8o years old!) Gregg was hiding behind a rock formation and as Nonno walked by, out stepped Gregg and put a pretty big smile on Nonno's face. That was awesome to see! That night was the big b-day party for Nonno! It was at Steve and Paula's in their backyard. Paula did such a great job planning and decorating for it. She is amazing! We had good food and fun entertainment. Paula put together a slide show full of pictures of Nonno growing up, up until now. I think Marc looks a lot like him when he was younger. Video of the grandkids saying something to Nonno, some fun memories about him, were also part of the slideshow. And of course, there was cake and icecream. Awesome night!

Amanda got the perfect picture of me about to kill over!

We had such a fun week with the family. We don't get to see them that often so it was nice to have everyone together. Paula is an amazing woman! She did such an awesome job at planning everything. I love her so much and am so glad she's my mommy-in-law!!!

Nate, Amanda and Hayden left Sunday afternoon. It was sad to see them go cuz we had so much fun with them, but I know they were glad to be going home. Nothing like your own bed.

It was an exhausting week, especially for Kenadie and Hayden, but we had a blast!

First Tooth

Well, it finally happened...Kenadie's bottom front tooth poked through her gums this morning! As exciting as that is, I can't say I'm glad it finally happened so that she won't be so ornery from the pain. Nope. Her other tooth is still trying to make its way to the surface. So we still have a while till she's happy again. Gosh, I make it sound like it's a terrible thing. But really, it's an exciting time for a first time mom to see her baby grow up and reach all these milestones.
Now, if she could just get crawling down...
