Kenadie's new 'do

So Kenadie's hair is getting longer but I still can't do much with it. But I decided to see how it would look if I put gel in it. I got it wet and caked on the gel. It went pretty curly and it's super cute....until it dries. It actually stays kind of curly, at least wavy, when it dries, but at the end of the day, it's straight again. Here are some pics. She wouldn't hold still for me; she was too intersted in everything around her. But hopefully you get the idea of what it looks like. I have decided to her hair like this everyday.

Dinosaur Park

On Monday, my sister and I took 8 kids to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden. She has 5 of her own and babysits 2 boys; I have one. It was a really fun park. We had a blast!

9 months old!

I can't beleive how fast the time has gone! Kenadie is really 9 months already?!

We just got back from the doctor for her 9 month well check-up. She weighs 16 lbs, 4 oz, which is the 10th percentile; and is 27 1/2 in tall, which is the 49th percentile. She's really small for her weight but she's growing consistently so there's nothing to worry about. All around, she looks really healthy. She had to get her foot pricked so they could test her blood to see if she's anemic. She didn't even cry. She's a tough girl! She has hit her head on so many things lately but she never cries.

This is such a fun age. She has quite the personality. She makes funny faces and funny noises. When she needs me, she'll crawl to me saying, "mama, mama, mama." And I love it!

She loves to eat about anything and everything. She whines big time if we're eating and she's not eating what we have. Suddenly the baby food isn't good enough for her. She just wants to be big like the rest of us. Oh yeah, and she has 2 teeth on the bottom. The top gums are swollen so I think those teeth will try to pop through pretty soon.

She can play patty-cake by herself now. She loves it when we do itsy-bitsy spider. She can now wave bye bye. Her favorite songs are The Wheels on the Bus and Old McDonald Had a Farm.

She's now crawling everywhere and getting into everything. She loves playing on the tile by the fireplace. That won't last much longer when it gets colder outside and we have that on. She also loves to stand on the couch. She will do this weird, almost psycho, sounding cough when she is standing there. Sometimes she'll "cruise" as they say, along the couch.

She loves to play in the bath. She plays with little rubber duckies while she's in there and loves them. I swear she can say duck. Oh and she can kind of say "uh oh" when something falls to the floor.

Here are some pics from the last few weeks.

Loves to sleep with her butt in the air.

Playing with her friend Kaitlyn

Crazy hair after getting out of the bath

I am so grateful I get to stay home with her. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this girl tons and we have so much fun together!

Pictures of Kenadie

I just got some great pictures back of Kenadie. A girl in my ward, Skye, is an amazing photographer. One day she called me and told me she was teaching a friend about photography. She needed a baby to photograph and asked if she could borrow Kenadie. Skye wanted to take pictures of Kenadie?! Heck yes! I'm all over that!! So we jumped in the car and drove over there. Kenadie wasn't sure about the hats and bows we put on her head so she was mad and tried to pull them off. I didn't think they got any good pictures but apparently they did. Here are a few.

I Love My Brother!

Saturday night we had a family get together at my grandma's house. We had lots of good food and homemade oreo icecream - a family favorite!

My sister and dad preparing the icecream

Everyone sitting around eating food

The girls racing across the yard (I came in second by the way! But hurt my knee.)

And the reason for the get together....my awesome, little brother, Brad

Brad is leaving for Duke (getting his PhD in Biochemisrty) next Wednesday so we had a "see ya later" party for him.

After dinner, everyone got a chance to tell Brad good luck at school and tell a memory about him. I was the first to get up. I told about when we were little and played together when we were off track (we went to year round school). We would just giggle and giggle and giggle and I don't remember at what. But we always had fun together. Even now when we get see eachother we giggle and giggle and act pretty immature. Bule looks at me sometimes and asks, "How old are you?!" But I LOVE being with Brad. He's got a great sense of humor. He's so incredibly smart, of course! He reminds me how incredibly smart I'm not. He's so in tune with the spirit. He knows that wherever he is, whatever he's doing, he's serving the Lord in some capacity. It's hard for him to make a sandwich and eat it but you'd never know that. He's never complained a day in his life. And I'm not exaggerating. A negative word has never come out of his mouth. He's such a great example to me and I look up to him in many ways (one, because he's taller than me!) He helps me put my life in perspective and to sit back and see how easy I really do have it. I wish him all the luck and success in his new calling at Duke University. I know he will be so happy there doing research. One day he will find the cure to Cerebal Palsy and then he'll be all better. I will miss him so much but am so happy for him.
I love you BJ!

Me and Brad being goofy. There are very few pictures where we're serious

Oh look, here's a serious one. He's a handsome boy!

Nap Time

Well, it's suppose to be for Kenadie. But all she wants to do is play. About 2 weeks ago she learned how to sit up from lying down. And now she pulls herself up onto her knees.
So yesterday, I go in to check on her after I put her down and this is what she was doing. And this is what she does everytime now. It takes a few times for me to go in there and lay her back down and tell her it's time to take a nap. Usually after 3 times, she gets the idea.
